John Clifton has spent over 30 years in the Food Service Industry, holding positions with Sara Lee as National Accounts Manager, Sage Enterprises as Vice President of Marketing and Sales, was Partner and Vice President of U.S. Foodservice a Chicago based food brokerage company.

John retired in October of 2008, to work full time in the ministry of Somebody Cares St. Augustine which he founded in late 2006.

Somebody Cares St. Augustine, is a grass roots ministry whose mission is to provide ongoing demonstrations of God's love to the community through unity in action. "To let the people of St. Augustine and St. John's county know that Somebody Cares, because Jesus cares, we God's people care and through our combined resources proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to our community".

For the past four years Somebody Cares St. Augustine has partnered with Churches, and organizations to put on three CareFests, these are Christ centered days of community service, last year 26 churches and organizations brought out over 600 volunteers to go into the community and do 60 projects that day, and the caring continues all year. Since 2007 Somebody Cares volunteers have worked at over 200 sites in our city and county being the hands and feet of Jesus. Through this ministry God has blessed our city by providing over $250,000.00 in goods and services to the hurting and disadvantaged among us.
