Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin is the visionary and founding pastor for
The Potter’s House Christian Fellowship,
Co-Chancellor of The Potter’s House
Christian Academy and CEO of Kingdom Plaza Mall.
The vision that the Lord gave to him was one of a holistic
ministry to reach into the community and meet the needs of the total man,
physically, emotionally and spiritually. His practical approach for ministry
began by implementing various outreach programs such as a food and clothing
pantry, free auto repair, barbering and moving services, Jails and Prison
visitations, hospital and nursing home ministry, radio outreach broadcasts and
ministerial training through Bible College courses and sound biblical teaching.
The ministry quickly began and continues to grow and bear much fruit under his
divine leadership.
He has led The Potter’s House in the purchase and renovation of
several pieces of property on the city’s Westside, including a former car
dealership, a former Bell South phone center and the first fully enclosed
shopping mall in Jacksonville’s history.
Bishop’s numerous accomplishments encompass both the secular and
spiritual realms. Consecrated into the office of a bishop in 1999, he shortly
thereafter formed Covenant Fellowship International where he serves as overseer
to over 90 pastors. He has been the recipient of numerous awards for his labors
in the areas of community transformation, business and economic development.
Bishop’s responsibilities to the ministry, as well as to the Body
at large, are numerous; however, his first responsibility is his family, and his
greatest of all accomplishments as being happily married to Narlene Jackson, his
college sweetheart, for 31 years and parenting two beautiful children, Angel and
Stephen.
"It has only been through
my faith in Jesus Christ our Savior that I have been able to experience true
serenity the rewards I received in life by simply praying, "Thy will be
done."-David
